Through the Staff partners with incredibly skilled and caring musicians across the country to provide free virtual lessons to all who need them.
Once accepted as a TTS student, you will sign a semester contract and then receive an email from our team connecting you with your teacher. You get one-on-one time with your assigned TTS teacher every week at no cost, and continue growing on your musical journey!
TTS is primarily for students who cannot access private lessons without our program due to financial hardship or transportation issues. We want to make music more accessible for all, especially for BIPOC young musicians. If you are having difficulty affording or accessing lessons, TTS is here to connect you to high-quality virtual lessons - wherever you are. All instruction is virtual and flexible to your and your teacher’s schedules. As a TTS student, you are guaranteed either 30 minutes or 1 hour of private lessons per week, depending on your age and area of study.
There are 3 semesters of weekly lessons every year: spring, summer, and fall.

Through the Staff partners with school districts, music educators, and community music organizations to find highly-deserving students to connect with you. Once you are accepted as a volunteer, you will receive an email connecting you with your student(s) and their family. Once contracts are signed, you can start virtual lessons and help them grow on their musical journey!
Through the Staff instructors are kind, compassionate, and driven teachers who aim to help the next generation of young musicians reach their goals. If you are a college/conservatory music student who is willing to volunteer one hour a week to serve as a musical mentor, we’re looking for you! Read more about eligibility on our FAQ page.
You let us know in your application (or feedback form for returning teachers) how many students you’re available to teach and what skill levels you’re comfortable with, and we will match you with a deserving 2nd-12th grade enrolled TTS student. TTS students are located all over the U.S. and have demonstrated a need for our services and a desire to improve in their area of study.
At TTS, you can coordinate directly with your student to set up weekly lesson times - whenever you want to. We know you’re busy, so we only ask TTS teachers to work with one student a week, minimum. However, if you have the time, you can open your studio to as many students as you’d like!
